Ray Family Update 1/10

Posted Date: 1/10/25 (9:00 PM)

  1. Great 1st week of 2025!

    • Our students continue to make impressive learning gains in the classroom!  The 1st semester of the school year will end on Friday, January 24th.  Please review your student’s progress on SchoolTool and Google Classroom.  Contact your student’s teacher or guidance counselor with any questions.  Students, let’s gear up for a great 2nd semester!

  2. Spotlighting Ray Students:

    • Earlier this fall we received fantastic picture submissions from families of Ray students.  Please continue to send in images of Ray students showcasing talent and personality in a variety of ways via this link.  Images will run on digital boards throughout the school.

  3. Planetarium: 6th Grade Students

    • Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday of next week 6th grade science classes will experience the film “Moving Out: A modern view of the solar system” in the BOCES Planetarium.  We are excited to host this program and appreciate BOCES for their continued support.

  4. State Test Simulation (Math): Wednesday, 1/22

    • Students in 6th and 7th grade will participate in the state test math simulation on January 22nd.  The simulation is focused on student practice and technology readiness for spring assessments.  The 40-minute session will not be scored in any way, and it is a great opportunity for students to build familiarity and comfort with testing.

  5. PTA & Credit Union: Student Opportunity

    • Sidney Federal Credit Union (SFCU) has partnered with our PTA to offer an AMAZING opportunity for our students.  Through February, opening a new youth account will earn a student $10 and the Ray PTA will also receive $10!  This is a great way to support our kids and our school.  Please see the December 5th ParentSquare message for more details.

  6. Calendar Reminder: Martin Luther King Jr. Day

    • There will be no school for students on Monday, 1/20/25 in observance of Martin Luther King Jr. Day.   Please enjoy the long weekend with family and friends.
