Ray Family Update 11/14
2nd Quarter Begins: Report Cards Live Today
This week brought shifts and excitement with the new quarter and new classes for students. Please review your student’s current schedule and 1st Quarter grades on SchoolTool. Contact your student’s teachers or guidance counselor with questions.
Field Trip: Syracuse Stage
Excitement is building for our two field trips to Syracuse Stage to see “A Christmas Story.” This classic holiday tale is a humorous adaptation about young Ralphie’s quest to get his dream gift amid festive family fun. As a reminder, students may elect to grab a school bagged lunch from the cafeteria before we depart. If your student would like a school bagged lunch, complete this form by Friday, November 21st. This will give our kitchen staff enough time to make arrangements. See the earlier ParentSquare message for more information.
Food Drive: Student Council
Student Council will be running a food drive for the benefit of the Baldwinsville Food Pantry all next week. The goal is to collect 1,000 items. Please see the advertisement at the bottom of this message for more information.
Spelling Bee on Horizon: Study Materials
Over the next few weeks, Ray students will have the opportunity to participate in a sequence of Spelling Bees which could eventually lead to them representing Ray Middle School in the Regional Scripps Spelling Bee….and even the National Scripps Spelling Bee! All of the words from the 2026 School Spelling Bee Study List can be found in the Great Words, Great Works book list (list attached), allowing your students to read their spelling bee study words within the context of great stories!
Community Cafe Success:
Thank you to the families and students who attended Ray’s Community Cafe last week. We had great conversations about organization, study skills, and academic habits for success. Please take a look at this document for tips on how families can foster success in these areas with their students.
Yearbook Request: Student Halloween Photos
From our students on the Yearbook Team: Help make the 2025-2026 Yearbook the best ever by sharing photos of your 6th or 7th grade student celebrating Halloween. We need pictures of Ray students in costume, handing out candy to their neighbors, trick or treating, decorations they've made (pumpkins and crafts) and even photos of all the yummy treats they received! If you have photos to share, please email them by December 1st to Rayyearbook@bville.org with the subject line HALLOWEEN. Thank you!
